Chelsea have issued Antonio Rudiger a transfer ultimatum with Tottenham and West Ham ready to offer the Stamford Bridge outcast an escape route.
Frank Lampard has told Rudiger he is not part of his plans for the season ahead, which has alerted Chelsea's London rivals to the defender's availability.
The 27-year-old has not played a minute of his club's matches so far this season - and despite Chelsea's defensive struggles he continues to be left out in the cold.
The Hammers believe they are at the front of the queue for Rudiger's services as they are prepared to offer him a season-long loan deal.
Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho's Spurs are interested in signing the Germany international on a permanent deal if their swoop for Inter Milan centre-back Milan Skriniar fails.
However, Rudiger has been told he will not be going anywhere unless he signs a contract extension.
Rudiger is contracted until the summer of 2022 - but Chelsea want him to commit to another year, according to The Mirror.
That would protect his transfer value, with the club having splurged around £250million on new players this summer in a bid to turn Lampard's side into Premier League and Champions League contenders.
The Chelsea boss made it clear to Rudiger ahead of last month's 2-0 defeat to Liverpool that the centre-back is not in his first-team plans.
Rudiger then spoke with his brother Sahr and his representatives to figure out a solution ahead of Monday's transfer window deadline.
Chelsea have struggled defensively in the early stages of the season, having conceded in four of their five matches so far, with just one Premier League win on their record.

The Blues crashed out of the Carabao Cup against Tottenham on Tuesday - but it is believed there is little chance of Rudiger earning a recall for Saturday’s Premier League game at home to Crystal Palace.
The defender, who signed for Chelsea in July 2017 on a five-year deal, is now thought to be resigned to securing a move Stamford Bridge.
